Summary of Features and Benefits:
Features |
Benefits |
Inherently FR |
Safer than “treatments”. No deterioration of performance after repeated laundering or dry cleaning. |
Blend with standard Fibres |
Viscose, Polyester, Acrylic, Cotton, Silk etc., meets all European FR standards |
Normally used in the weft |
Fabric produced with Kanecaron can be adapted quickly and easily from domestic to contract standards, simply by changing the weft. |
Range of FR Fibre Solutions |
Fibres with different levels of FR, enable fabric manufacturers to produce a whole range of cost effective solutions. |
Natural feel |
No synthetic aspect; finished products have a natural feel and cotton like touch. |
Bright colours |
No limit to the colours that can be achieved when using Kanecaron. Design preferences for bright or brilliant colours and hues can be easily met. |
Stops burning quickly |
Toxic fume production is rapidly halted by the virtually instantaneous flame shut-off. |
Cost effective |
Kanecaron fabrics are inherently
Fr, so no further treatments are necessary. Can be combined with standard non-FR fibres, helping to reduce costs. |
Easy aftercare conditions |
Simple maintenance: can be washed, laundered or dry cleaned often and retain both its brightness and full FR performance. |
Can accept soil-repellent treatments |
Applying a stain resistant treatment does not affect the FR capability of the fabric. |
Recommended yarns as per End Use:
Kanecaron SYS Fibre: For Upholstery & Drapery:
The Kanecaron SYS type has been specially developed for use in the weft with normal polyester warps in-order to produce inherently flame retardant fabrics for the contract Upholstery and Drapery markets. As SYS is a weft only solution, weavers can easily produce cost effective inherently FR fabrics.
Kanecaron SYS and polyester can be produced in a wide variety of fabric types, which are ideal for use in hotel rooms, restaurants and reception areas. Whether in drapery, bedspread or upholstery settings, the fabrics benefits from a natural look, attractive drape and comfortable feel.
Kanecaron PW Fibre: For Upholstery:
The Kanecaron PW type has been specially designed as higher flame retardant and higher heat resistant fibre for upholstery. It is cost effective, as it has been specially developed for being blended with conventional non-FR fibres, only used in filling which enables the entire fabric become inherently flame retardant for upholstery. Protex-W offers total design flexibility with no restriction on colours. FR quality of this fibre will not wash off or degrade even after repeated washing. The heat resistance of PW Fibre is higher than any other regular Kanecaron types.
Kanecaron PROTEX M FR Fibre: The inherent FR Blending Fibre for Protective Clothing:
Protex M is a part of the range of Kanecaron FR Fibres. It is designed to blend perfectly, in specified quantities, with natural or manmade fibres to produce the highest quality textiles, with superb handle, drape and appearance.
Protex M is a modified acrylic fibre with permanent flame retardant (FR) qualities. Unlike non-permanently FR treated cotton, the protective qualities of PROTEX don’t wear out. Nor does PROTEX expose the skin to chemical additives.
When PROTEX blended work-wear is exposed to flaming, it chars rather then melt. This means it does not form molten droplets which can burn the skin. Instead, the char forms a protective layer which can give the wearer important extra time to get out of the danger area.
